The 18th Edition of BS 7671, the IET Wiring Regulations came into effect on 1st July 2018 becoming the new national standard for electrical installation work in the UK.
Following the July publication, contractors have a six month transition period to get up-to-speed with the changes. It will then be a requirement that all electrical installations designed and periodically inspected after 1st January 2019 will have to comply with the updated regulations.
